Creamy Garlic Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts

This recipe transforms boneless, skinless chicken breasts into a flavorful dish with a creamy garlic sauce. Perfect for a comforting meal, it pairs well with pasta, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approx. 150g each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 250ml chicken stock
  • 150ml double cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 50g Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp dried parsley or 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Method

1. Season and Sear the Chicken

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

2. Make the Sauce

  1. Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet.
  2. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken stock and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  4. Stir in the cream, Dijon mustard, Parmesan cheese, and parsley. Simmer gently for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

3. Combine and Cook

  1. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them.
  2. Cover and simmer on low heat for 5–7 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature of 74°C).
  3. Squeeze in the lemon juice and stir to combine.

4. Serve

  • Serve the chicken breasts with the creamy garlic sauce spooned over the top.
  • Pair with pasta, rice, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.

Chef’s Tips

  • For a deeper flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine before adding the chicken stock.
  • Add a handful of spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for extra texture and flavor.

This recipe combines juicy chicken breasts with a rich and creamy garlic sauce, making it an indulgent yet easy-to-make dish for any occasion. Enjoy!
