How to BBQ butchr. Burgers

Grilling butchr. burgers on the BBQ is simple and ensures juicy, flavorful results.

What You’ll Need

  • butchr. burger patties
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (optional for added flavor)
  • Cheese slices (optional)
  • Burger buns
  • Toppings and sauces of your choice

Method

1. Preheat the BBQ

  1. Preheat your BBQ to medium-high heat (200–220°C).
    • Ensure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.

2. Prepare the Patties

  1. If desired, season the pre-made patties with a sprinkle of salt and pepper for extra flavor.
  2. Let the patties sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes to ensure even cooking.

3. Grill the Burgers

  1. Place the patties directly on the grill grates.
  2. Cook for 4–5 minutes on the first side without pressing or flipping too early. This helps develop a nice sear.
  3. Flip the patties gently with a spatula and cook for another 3–4 minutes on the second side, or until the internal temperature reaches:
    • Rare: 52–55°C
    • Medium-Rare: 57–60°C
    • Medium: 63–68°C
    • Well-Done: 70°C or above.

4. Add Cheese (Optional)

  1. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
  2. Close the BBQ lid to melt the cheese.

5. Toast the Buns

  1. Place the burger buns cut-side down on the grill for 1–2 minutes, or until lightly toasted.

6. Assemble the Burgers

  1. Spread sauces like ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise on the bottom bun.
  2. Add toppings such as lettuce, tomato, or pickles.
  3. Place the cooked patty on top and finish with the top bun.

Chef’s Tips

  • Avoid Pressing the Burgers: Pressing forces out juices, leading to drier patties.
  • Keep It Juicy: If the patties are lean, baste them with a little melted butter or oil during grilling for added moisture.
  • Check Doneness: Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking, especially for store-bought patties.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with classic BBQ sides like coleslaw, potato wedges, or grilled corn.
  • Offer a selection of toppings like crispy onions, bacon, or avocado for a gourmet experience.

This method ensures your pre-made burgers are grilled to perfection with minimal effort, delivering a juicy, smoky flavor every time. Enjoy!
